Columbia River Gorge rated 6th in World for Sustainable Destinations
An article was just published in NationalGeographic.com listing the Columbia River Gorge as the 6th rated location for Sustainable Destinations.
What a great accomplishment!
In conjunction with National Geographic Society Center for Sustainable Destinations, National Geographic Traveler has devoted its sixth annual Places Rated Destination Stewardship survey to the world's most celebrated and iconic travel destinations and how well they have weathered the pressures of mass tourism and other threats. Two of the U.S. destinations that made the top category were Oregon and Washington's Columbia Gorge region (#6, 77 points) and Massachusetts Berkshires (#7, 76 points).
