Activities
For our guests, please feel free to enjoy our heated indoor swimming pool, outdoor & indoor whirlpools and dry saunas. Weather permitting, enjoy one of our two outdoor tennis courts or our sand volleyball court located on the grounds at the Lodge. Adult mountain bicycles are also available by the Fitness Center for your use. Please contact our Activities Coordinator for reservations.
The goal at Skamania Lodge is to bring an exciting once in a lifetime experience to our guests.
Beginning Friday June 25th see live Raptors through-out each weekend. Through sponsorship between the Lodge and the USDA Forest Service Raptor Adventures will provide free interactive educational programs each weekend.
See a Falcon in free flight, the world's largest species of owl and Hawks. Guests and the Public are invited to learn the natural history, stewardship and the importance of these amazing creatures in the environment.
Get up close and personal with these trained Raptors. Programs will be on the front lawn.
- Fridays 6:00 pm
- Saturdays 11:00 am and 5:00 pm
- Sunday 11:00 am and 1:30 pm
In addition to the weekend programming Skamania Lodge is proud to feature the only falconry school at a hotel, west of the Mississippi. - Introduction to Raptors - 30 minutes - $40.00 per person with one free non-participant
Guests are taught the history of Raptors, general identification, the importance and role Raptors play in the environment. Learn basic handling techniques.
- Hawk Walk - 60 minutes - $70.00 per person with one free non-participant. Introduction to Raptors with a Hawk Walk $100.00
Guests have the opportunity to cast hawks from the glove and enjoy them in flight as we walk the scenic Skamania Lodge trails. Introduction to Raptors required.
- Day of Falconry - 4 hours - $300.00
Guests are taught biology, natural history, general identification tips, given a brief lesson in Raptor handling, etiquette and husbandry, how to weigh and feed raptors, then outfitted with equipment and taken on a Hawk Walk - after a picnic break guest are introduced to Falcons and given a lure flying demonstration by a Master Falconer.
