2009 Charity Golf Tournament Schedule
Three charity events added to regular tournament schedule
Stevenson, Wash. - (March 17, 2009) - Skamania Lodge, an all-season mountain resort nestled in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, will sponsor three charity golf tournaments in 2009 on its award-winning Golf Course. The charity tournaments, benefiting causes ranging from local food banks to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, are in addition to an already active schedule of tournaments at the property.
The Golf Course at Skamania Lodge is an 18-hole, par-70 course located on the resort's 175 wooded acres. Boasting breathtaking views of the Pacific Northwest landscape, the Golf Course's services include a driving range, practice bunker, chipping and putting greens, full-service golf shop, cart rentals and an onsite staff of PGA professionals. Recently rated as a four-star course by Golf Digest magazine in their 2008 "Best Places to Play," and named by Golf for Women magazine as one of the "Top 100 Courses" in 2007, the Golf Course at Skamania Lodge provides an enticing challenge to experienced players.

- Skamania Charity Tournament - Wednesday, May 13, 2009
Benefits Skamania County Food Bank, United Way of the Columbia Gorge, and the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
The four-person team scramble begins at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start at Skamania Lodge. Cost is $480 per team, including green/cart fees, prizes and lunch.
- Nine and Dine Tournament - Wednesday, September 23, 2009
Benefits the Stevenson High School Scholarship Fund.
The four-person nine-hole scramble begins at 4 p.m. with a shotgun start at Skamania Lodge and is followed by a reception and dinner. Cost is $70 per person, including green fees and dinner.
- Skamania Open Tournament - Saturday, September 26, 2009
Benefits the Free Toy Store.
The 27-hole tournament begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start for 18-holes at Skamania Lodge and continues with nine holes at Beacon Rock Golf Course at 1 p.m. with three different formats of play: scramble, shamble and best ball. Cost is $69 per person, including green/cart fees and prizes.
In addition to the three charity tournaments, the Golf Course at Skamania Lodge hosts seasonal golf tournaments throughout the year. The complete 2009 schedule is as follows:
- March Madness Mixer - Saturday, March 21, 2009
The tournament begins at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start at Skamania Lodge and follows an individual men's and ladies stroke play format. Cost is $49 per person, including green/cart fees, gross/net prizes and lunch credit.
- Spring Tune-Up Shamble - Saturday, April 11, 2009
The two-person shamble begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at Skamania Lodge. Cost is $59 per person, including green/cart fees, prizes and lunch credit.
- 15th Annual Skamania Scramble - Sunday, April 26, 2009
The four-person team scramble begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at Skamania Lodge. Cost is $55 per player, including green/cart fees, driving range and prizes.
- Memorial Day Madness - Monday, May 25, 2009
The tournament begins with a 2 p.m. shotgun start at Skamania Lodge and follows a two-person scramble format on the front nine and a shamble format on the back nine. Cost is $59 per person, including green/cart fees, driving range and prizes.
- Fire Cracker 18 - Saturday, July 4, 2009
The two-person best ball tournament begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at Skamania Lodge. Cost is $59 per person, including green/cart fees, driving range and prizes.
- Scramble 67 - Thursday, August 6, 2009
The two-person scramble begins at 2 p.m. with a shotgun start at Skamania Lodge. Cost is $59 per person, including green/cart fees, driving range and lunch credit.
- Skamania Club Championship - Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11, 2009
The tournament begins at 12 p.m. with a shotgun start at Skamania Lodge each day of play and follows an individual men's and ladies stroke play format. Entry fee is included with 2009 handicap membership dues.
- Fall Back Time Change Challenge - Sunday, November 1, 2009
The two-person shamble begins at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start at Skamania Lodge. Cost is $49 per person and includes green/cart fees, prizes and lunch.
- Turkey Trot Triple Play - Friday, November 27, 2009
The 27-hole tournament begins at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start for 18-holes at Skamania Lodge and continues with nine holes at Beacon Rock Golf Course at 2 p.m. with three different formats of play: scramble, shamble and best ball. Cost is $59 per person, including green/cart fees, prizes and lunch.
- Pre-Christmas Scramble - Saturday, December 12, 2009
The two-person scramble begins at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start at Skamania Lodge. Cost is $49 per person, including green/cart fees, prizes and lunch.
- New Year's Eve Shamble - Thursday, December 31, 2009
The two-person shamble begins at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start at Skamania Lodge. Cost is $49 per person, including green/cart fees, prizes and lunch.
The Skamania Lodge Golf Course and Beacon Rock Golf Course dress codes require collared shirts and do not permit denim or alternative spikes.
