Celebrate Easter and Mother's Day at Skamania Lodge
Pacific Northwest Resort offers traditional brunches for families.
Stevenson, Wash. - (March 17, 2009) - Skamania Lodge, an all-season mountain resort in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts, invites families to celebrate Easter and Mother's Day.
The Easter celebration will take place on Sunday, April 12, 2009 beginning with the annual Easter Egg Hunt at 8 a.m. on the front lawn of the resort. Guests are invited to enjoy a children's petting zoo, pictures with the Easter Bunny and Easter Sunday brunch.
"Skamania Lodge offers the perfect setting for families to celebrate Easter and Mother's Day," said Scott Spann, general manager of Skamania Lodge. "The annual Easter Egg Hunt and holiday brunches are traditions that we love to bring to our guests each year."
The Easter Sunday Brunch, held in The Cascade Room on Sunday, April 12, 2009, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., features a selection of breakfast and lunch offerings. Menu highlights include:
- Starters
- Pine cured salmon lox with cream cheese and bagels, capers and onions
- Goat cheese tapenade and roasted garlic, with grilled pita bread
- Assorted local house smoked fish with condiments
- Salads
- Buffalo mozzarella with yellow and red tomatoes and fresh basil
- Waldorf salad with toasted walnuts and sundried cranberries
- Grilled asparagus, cauliflower, broccoli, red peppers and eggplant with a lemon scented tarragon vinaigrette
- Carving station
- Smoked ham glazed with pomegranate molasses
- Slow roasted prime rib of beef with au jus and horseradish sauce
- Entrees
- Sesame crusted loin of pork with grilled pineapple, cucumber and roasted red pepper relish
- Scallop, shrimp and dungeness crab thermidor with mushrooms, shallots and artichokes
- Desserts
- Assorted French pastries, cakes, cobblers, cookies, baklava and short cakes with berries
- Hand-dyed Easter eggs
The Mother's Day Buffet, held in The Cascade Room on Sunday, May 10, 2009, from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., features a variety of special offerings throughout the day. Menu highlights include:
- Starters
- Dungeness crab with mignonette, cocktail sauce and remoulade
- Oyster shooters
- Assorted terrines, pates, and galantines
- Salads
- Pasta salad, artichokes, grape tomatoes and asiago cheese with lemon basil vinaigrette
- Bay shrimp and green peas with roasted cashew-tarragon Louie dressing
- Seasonal fruits, cantaloupe, honey dew, watermelon, pineapple, strawberries
- Carving station
- Native American-style potlatch salmon with remoulade
- Oven roasted smoked ham with a brandied cranberry sauce
- Entrees
- Roasted halibut with fresh dill, tomato fennel concasse and pinot gris beurre blanc
- Grilled breast of chicken with green peppercorn demi-glace, roasted forest mushrooms, Oregon blue cheese and toasted hazelnuts
- Green curried beef with pan fired yaki soba noodles and fine julienned vegetables
- Desserts
- Cheese cakes, chocolate eclairs, strudel, pies, pastries and truffles
- Strawberries dipped in chocolate
