Create a meeting to remember at Skamania Lodge
Destination offers team building adventures in the Columbia River gorge
Stevenson, Wash. - (January 26, 2009) - Skamania Lodge, an all-season mountain resort in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts, offers business executives distinctive team building activities. The activities provide a well-rounded meeting experience, with alternatives to a boardroom environment, and highlight the property's Pacific Northwest location and outdoor adventure offerings.
"At Skamania Lodge, our ultimate goal is to provide an environment for productive and memorable meetings," said Scott Spann, general manager of Skamania Lodge. "These team building activities take advantage of the Pacific Northwest all-season recreation playground located at our footstep, while allowing colleagues to create stronger relationships and positive memories with one another."
Golf Events:
- Frisbee Golf
A Frisbee Golf course is assembled on the driving range at The Golf Course at Skamania Lodge. The course consists of nine holes and can be completed in approximately one hour, depending on group size.
**There is a $200 set-up fee for up to 24 players and a $5 fee for each additional participant. For an additional fee, Skamania Lodge offers a night version of the Frisbee Golf course.
- Skamaniac Putting Course
The course consists of nine holes and can be completed in approximately one hour, depending on group size. Skamania Lodge can customize this activity based on skill levels and group objectives.
**There is a $200 set-up fee for up to 24 players and a $5 fee for each additional participant. For an additional fee, Skamania Lodge offers a night version of the Skamaniac Putting Course.
- Night Golf
After a day of meetings this activity offers executives the perfect way to unwind. Night golf consists of a six-hole loop on the scenic back nine at The Golf Course at Skamania Lodge and takes approximately two hours to complete. Start times vary, depending on sunset, and the fee includes glo-ball equipment, course fees and staff assistance.
**Cost is $60 per player with a 12 player minimum. Hand carts and clubs are available for rent. Unfortunately, no power carts are available for this team building activity.
Guided Adventures:
- Geocaching
Offering guests the perfect way to explore Skamania Lodge's pristine location in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, this activity includes a high tech treasure hunt played throughout the property's four miles of hiking trails. The participant's objective is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using GPS devices. The game takes approximately 2 hours to complete, depending on group size.
**Cost is $25 per person and group size is optimum of up to 50 participants, but additional participants can be accommodated.
- Wildflowers and Waterfalls Tours
These tours feature guided hikes to breathtaking locations for wildflower or waterfall viewing on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge. Perfect for all fitness levels, the hikes range in distance from one to three miles and can be completed in approximately three to four hours.
**Waterfall tours are $50 per person and offered year-round. Wildflower tours are $60 per person and offered on the weekends, March through June. Group size is limited to between 6-20 participants.
- Harvest Wine Tours
The tours feature tastings at three select wineries in the Columbia River Gorge wine region. Departing and returning from Skamania Lodge, participants will enjoy a scenic drive with breathtaking views of Pacific Northwest fall foliage.
**Offered every Saturday and Sunday during October and November, Harvest Wine Tours are $85 per person and include transportation, tasting fees, water and snacks.
As the premier International Association of Conference Centers (IACC) certified conference center in the Northwest, Skamania Lodge offers 23 state-of-the-art meeting rooms with more than 22,000-square feet of meeting space. The property's meeting services feature Complete Meeting Packages which include all the standard services of the meeting rooms and Conference Center as well as lodging, three complete meals per day and two deluxe continuous breaks per day. In addition, guests can take advantage of the "all-season playground" of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area with a wide variety of activities including hiking, biking and Sternwheeler cruises along the Columbia River in the summer; skiing and snowshoeing in the winter; and golfing, fishing and whitewater rafting all year long for outdoor enthusiasts.
