Literary Event Features Best Selling Local Childrenâ€™s Author Trudi Strain Trueit
Stevenson, Wash.Â - (May 3, 2010) -Skamania Lodge, an all-season mountain resort in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, announces its Bed & Book-fest event with best-selling local childrenâ€™s author Trudi Strain Trueit, Saturday, July 10, 2010.Â Trueit will host a reading from her newly-released book â€śSecrets of a Lab Rat #2: Mom, Thereâ€™s a Dinosaur in Beesonâ€™s Lakeâ€ť as well as lead children in a trilobite bookmark-making workshop and creative writing exercises.Â The activity will also include a milk and cookie reception with the author.Â Â Â
â€śDinosaurs and fossils have always been a fascinating subject to children and adults alike,â€ť said Scott Spann, general manager for Skamania Lodge. Trueitâ€™s book, â€śSecrets of a Lab Rat #2: Mom, Thereâ€™s a Dinosaur in Beesonâ€™s Lake,â€ť is the second installment in the â€śSecrets of a Lab Ratâ€ť series created for young readers ages 7 and older.Â The book is a fully illustrated story about a nine-year-old inventor and scientist named Scab who is convinced there is a prehistoric creature lurking in the local lake.Â Trueit resides in Seattle and has published more than 45 fiction and nonfiction books.
