Resort Announces Valentine’s Package and Romantic Dining
Stevenson, Wash. - (January 19, 2010) - Skamania Lodge, an all-season mountain resort in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts, offers a Valentine’s Value package for couples seeking a romantic getaway. Saturday, February 13 and Sunday, February 14, 2010 guests can escape with their loved one to enjoy Skamania Lodge’s cozy accommodations and a holiday themed four-course meal.
“Skamania Lodge’s magnificent views make it a special location for romantic getaways,” said Scott Spann, general manager of Skamania Lodge. “Our Valentine’s weekend package allows couples to reconnect with each other – and with nature, without spending a great deal of money.”
Skamania Lodge’s Valentine’s Value package includes one night accommodations in a Superior Forest view room, a prix fixe four-course dinner for two in The Cascade Room, a long stem rose and a six-piece box of chocolate truffles from Portland, Ore. based Moonstruck Chocolatier.
The Cascade Room at Skamania will celebrate the occasion with a specially crafted Valentine’s weekend menu which includes:
Appetizers
- Lobster and Dungeness Crab Cake with shaved fennel and Meyer lemon crème fraiche
- Brick Oven Forest Mushrooms with brandied crème, Rogue River blue cheese and toasted hazelnuts
- Artisan Cheese Plate, an assortment of local and imported cheeses, three seeded lavosh crackers, dried local fruit, roasted nuts and wildflower honey
Salads
- Organic Baby Spinach with roasted organic beets, smoked bacon, chevre and red ruby grapefruit vinaigrette
- Caesar with white anchovies, shaved parmigiano-reggiano, grilled foccacia crostini, and roasted garlic and lemon vinaigrette
Entrees
- Oven Roasted Rack of Imported Lamb with roasted garlic and tomato confit, soft polenta and grilled asparagus
- Pan Seared Breast of Duck with dried Hood River cherries, roasted pear, fresh sage and barley pilaf and haricot verts
- Prime Rib of Beef with Yukon Gold potato puree, Yorkshire pudding and grilled asparagus
- Seared Diver Scallops and Prawns with coconut milk, green curry, cumin infused jasmine rice, and winter vegetables
- Grilled Eggplant and Portabella Lasagna with lemon infused ricotta, smoked tomato ragout, organic purple basil and fresh mozzarella
Desserts
- Almond Genoise with lemon infused mascarpone, organic strawberries and vanilla bean crème
- “Moonstruck” Chocolate Stout Cake with raspberry syrup and chantilly cream
The a la carte Valentine’s menu will be available at the Cascade Room Saturday, February 13 and Sunday, February 14, 2010. Entrée prices range from $21 to $30.
