SKAMANIA LODGE’S BED & BOOK-FEST HELPS GUESTS GET CRAFTY
Second Literary Event Features Best Selling Local Author Jennifer Worick
Stevenson, Wash. - (February 18, 2010) - Skamania Lodge, an all-season mountain resort in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, announces its second Bed & Book-fest weekend with best-selling local author Jennifer Worick, Saturday, March 13 and Sunday, March 14, 2010. Worick will host an exclusive reception where she will give readings from her books “Backcountry Betty: Crafting with Style and Natural Objects” and the yet to be released “Simple Gifts.” In addition, Worick will lead guests through an interactive craft workshop followed by a special lunch with the author.
“Skamania Lodge is the ideal location for a crafting workshop that uses objects found in nature,” said Scott Spann, general manager for Skamania Lodge. “Our location at the Columbia River Gorge offers a wide array of natural materials and an environment that encourages creativity.”
Worick, the author of “Backcountry Betty: Crafting with Style and Natural Objects”, which features more than 50 quick and easy craft projects using materials directly from nature with themes varying from urban to beach, will present a sneak peak reading from her upcoming book “Simple Gifts”. She has written and co-produced more than 20 books, including the New York Times bestseller, “The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook: Dating & Sex.” Worick currently resides in Seattle and is the Seattle reporter for Allure Magazine.
Skamania Lodge’s Bed & Book-fest series features five author-hosted weekends in 2010 and is produced in collaboration with Kim Ricketts Book Events, a Seattle-based company connecting people, stories and ideas through author hosted events.
