Skamania Lodge Hosts Second Annual Beer Event
Stevenson, Wash. – (June 04, 2010) – Skamania Lodge, an all-season mountain resort in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, will toast the region’s best breweries at its second annual Celebration of Beer event on Saturday, October 9 and Sunday, October 10, 2010. Beer lovers—whether novice or expert—can enjoy the Celebration of Beer festivities a la carte or as part of a special weekend package.
The weekend’s events include a nine-hole golf challenge, specially priced Northwest beers, tasting events, a guest speaker, live music, a beer-themed buffet and a buffet brunch. Some of the local beer vendors include Snipes Mountain (Sunnyside, Wash.), Prodigal Son (Pendleton, Ore.), Fish Brewing Company (Olympia, Wash.), Amnesia Brewing (Portland, Ore.), Laht Neppur Brewing Company (Waitsburg, Wash.), Dick’s Brewing Company (Centralia, Wash.), Yakima Craft Brewing (Yakima, Wash.), Double Mountain Brewery (Hood River, Ore.), Full Sail Brewing (Seattle, Wash.), Salmon Creek Brewery (Vancouver, Wash.), Lompoc Brewing (Portland, Ore.) and Lazy Boy Brewing (Everett, Wash.).
“Celebration of Beer at Skamania Lodge was a huge success last year and we expect this year’s event to be even bigger and better,” said Scott Spann, general manager at Skamania Lodge. “Nothing beats a weekend filled with golf, food, entertainment and, most importantly, Pacific Northwest beer.”
Celebration of Beer schedule follows:
Saturday, October 9
9 – 11 a.m.
Skamania Beer Cup Challenge: A nine-hole tournament on the award-winning Golf Course, with the winning foursome crowned the Beer Cup Champions. Price: $35 per player, $125 per team.
11 a.m. – Midnight
All Tapped Out: Guests receive a celebratory price on a pint of the Pacific Northwest’s best beers at the River Rock Lounge.
12 – 1 p.m.
Pairing Great Brews with Great Foods - Guest Speaker: TBA
1 – 5 p.m.
Cheers for Beers: An extensive beer tasting served by brewers from across the Pacific Northwest. Between 3 and 5 p.m., brewers will roll out their seasonal or unreleased beers for tasting. Price: $1 per tasting ticket, $20 for 20 tickets, $40 for 50 tickets.
5 – 9 p.m.
Beer Battered and Boiled Seafood Buffet: A dinner buffet featuring beer-themed foods including beer-battered fish, beer-steamed shellfish and more. Price: $32.95, plus tax and gratuity.
Sunday, October 10
9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Kegs and Eggs Buffet: A hot breakfast buffet featuring traditional favorites with a focus on Pacific Northwest ingredients and flavors. Price: $28.95, plus tax and gratuity.
The Celebration of Beer package includes one night accommodations for two in a Superior Forest View room, 20 tasting tickets to the Cheers and Beers event on Saturday, attendance for two to the Kegs and Eggs Brunch on Sunday and two keepsake beer mugs.
