Every year we celebrate Mother’s Day, an American holiday which honors motherhood and the special women in our lives. Mother’s Day was created by Anna Jarvis in 1908 when she held a memorial for her own mother. It became an official holiday in the United States in 1914. While dates and celebrations vary, Mother’s Day most commonly falls on the second Sunday in May and traditionally involves presenting mothers with flowers, cards and other gifts.
Skamania Lodge, near Portland, Oregon, has several fabulous ways to help you honor your mother this Mother’s Day - including an indulgent weekend getaway, fabulous brunch, painting lessons and wonderful spa treatment options.
