Painting the Columbia River Gorge at Skamania Lodge

Recently, Skamania Lodge hosted an event where local meeting planners were able to come to lodge and be artists for the day. The instructors were from Vine Gogh Artist Bar and Studio, based in Portland, Oregon.
During our outdoor paining session, Vine Gogh’s art teacher provided step by step instruction on painting the spectacular view of the Columbia River Gorge as seen from the Lodge's front lawn. It took each of our participants approximately 2.5 hours to paint our spectacular view and each person left with their painting.

I plan an annual weekend conference that we continue to host at Skamania Lodge because its awesome retreat location is backed-up by consistently stellar service. The Lodge staff is incredibly thoughtful, and their ability to work together in teams to coordinate services on all levels allows them the capacity to truly partner with planners, together creating event programs that capitalize on the strengths of the facility and of its people. Their staff demonstrates great care for the details that can make or break the conference experience for participants and guests!

In 2011 my husband and I enjoyed our honeymoon exploring Skamania and the surrounding Columbia River Gorge. Shortly after he left for training with the military. In the summer of 2013, right after our two year anniversary, he returned from a year serving overseas. We chose to return to Skamania to celebrate his return. The Friday Gorge Harvest Buffet, zipline tour, hiking trails, friendly staff and the fire pit created a wonderful weekend for us both!
