October 05, 2012 - December 31, 2013. Skamania Lodge invites Lodge guests to join us for our Saturday wine tasting event. The wine tasting is in our Lobby every Saturday from 4 pm until 6 pm. The event features 2 wines, a red and a white, that are served in either The Cascade dining room or River Rock. Skamania Lodge guests enjoy a complimentary taste or may purchase a glass for $5. Weekend Activities at Skamania Lodge
January 04, 2013 - December 29, 2013. Every weekend Skamania Lodge hosts a variety of activities for guests of all ages to enjoy! There are two Making Memories Workshops every weekend; they feature selected crafts for our younger guests, and range in price from $5.00 to $20.00. Our game room is open throughout the day and features Ping Pong, Foosball, Wii, and a variety of board games. On Saturday nights, we show one of our favorite family friendly movies in our conference center. Kites are also available to check out at the front desk for $3.00; the entire family can take advantage of the famous Columbia River Gorge wind. For our adult guests, there is a complimentary wine tasting in the Gorge Room every Saturday night. The tasting features a red wine and a white wine that are served in either our Cascade Dining Room or River Rock. Glasses of the featured wine may be purchased at the tasting table for $5.00. Each weekend you and your family can join us in one of our conference rooms as we show one of our all-time favorite, family friendly, movies! And as the weather gets nicer during the summer, we will move the movie out to our driving range for a “drive-in” movie. During the summer months, you can sign up for guided hiking tours led by members of our staff. Prices range from $10.00 to $20.00 per person, and transportation to and from, water, tote bag, and a nutritional snack are provided. Eryn and Taylor Tie the Knot in 20's Theme Wedding
Eryn and Taylor met in middle school and their love blossomed in high school where they became inseparable. Soon after becoming engaged, Eryn and her lovely mom visited Skamania Lodge, a potential wedding venue near Portland. Eryn fell in love with the 14 foot stone fireplace, 40 foot windows framing the eastern view of the Columbia Gorge and the fun and funky design elements that our audio visual team creates. She Said Yes!
Congratulations to Brooke and Caleb who were engaged over the weekend. Brooke & Caleb knew Skamania Lodge was the perfect destination for their wedding, so they booked us before the big proposal. Over the weekend, it all came true though. Here is the story from Caleb himself: "It's kind of a silly story, but Brooke told me once that she had a brick in Pioneer Square (in downtown Portland), but she didn't know where it was or she wasn't sure where it was. I found it about a month ago, and then yesterday I showed it to her while we were on our way to the Timbers season opener and asked her to marry me. She had known that I had picked out the ring, but she hadn't seen it and didn't know I had it yet, so she was totally surprised... and she said yes! :)" Congratulations you two loveys!
