Congratulations to Brooke and Caleb who were engaged over the weekend. Brooke & Caleb knew Skamania Lodge was the perfect destination for their wedding, so they booked us before the big proposal. Over the weekend, it all came true though. Here is the story from Caleb himself:
"It's kind of a silly story, but Brooke told me once that she had a brick in Pioneer Square (in downtown Portland), but she didn't know where it was or she wasn't sure where it was. I found it about a month ago, and then yesterday I showed it to her while we were on our way to the Timbers season opener and asked her to marry me. She had known that I had picked out the ring, but she hadn't seen it and didn't know I had it yet, so she was totally surprised... and she said yes! :)" Congratulations you two loveys! We can't wait to help you celebrate this August.
On September 23 Jena and her two, now, Maids of Honor (Shawna & Lindsey) packed up for girls weekend in Bend. It had been forever since the three of us were able to sneak away for a girls only weekend, so we were so excited to go have fun in Bend. Little did Jena know, it wasn't going to be a girls weekend for long.
With weddings comes speeches. The Best Man, the parents, childhood friends, the siblings - there are always a host of people who will want to give a speech at the wedding. And because it is your wedding, you want to make sure they deliver polished, poignant and professional speeches. It is not overbearing to give these individuals some guidance before the big day. Here are a few tips to pass along:
Surprise Your Wedding Guests
One of the many fun things about a wedding is the fact that it is your special day and you can do whatever the heck you want with it. Something that is always fun is to create surprises for your guests. Surprises can come in all shapes, sizes and types, and they create memorable conversation pieces.
