Just about every wedding we have seen is romantic in its own special way. No matter what the bride and groom’s vision and personal style is, there is always an element of romance.
But romance is not a given. What’s the right way to ensure romance as a key element to your wedding? The simple answer is in the planning. Below are five important details to consider when you set out to plan your wedding.
Location – Make sure to pick a location that reflects your definition of romance – not someone else’s. A wedding on a tropical beach can be one couple’s ideal, whereas a mountaintop may spell romance for others.
Lighting – Nothing says romance like a dimly lit room or an outdoor ceremony right before dusk. Make sure you account for lighting levels when planning all stages of your wedding and you consider how to use things like candles, dimmers and shades.
Food – It is totally true – food can add to romance and can either make or break the mood. Lean toward lighter fare that is easy to consume and shy away from things that are heavy, have unpleasant odors or are messy and clunky to eat.
Space – Space is a funny thing because if you don’t have enough personal space people feel cramped and uncomfortable. And too much space can be impersonal. Work with your wedding planner to find the right balance of space based on the number of guests and plan accordingly for all aspects from the wedding ceremony to the reception.
Personal Touches – One of the biggest things to remember is that this day is about the bride and the groom. Always look to incorporate things that have become meaningful to the couple. The details count, so remember things like favorite flowers, music and shared memories.
This list can go on and on, but it is a good start to getting you to think about the little details that may not seem like such a big deal, but can make a lasting impact and ensure that romance is a part of your special day.
