On September 23 Jena and her two, now, Maids of Honor (Shawna & Lindsey) packed up for girls weekend in Bend. It had been forever since the three of us were able to sneak away for a girls only weekend, so we were so excited to go have fun in Bend. Little did Jena know, it wasn't going to be a girls weekend for long.
The three of us girls got dolled up for a night out in Bend. We hit about every bar in the downtown area before calling it a night. The next morning we got up and had an amazing breakfast at Mother's, a darling breakfast spot in a cute old house in Bend. After breakfast we headed back to the hotel, went for a swim and then it was nap time complete with some Law & Order: SVU, Zach & Jena's favorite show.
Shawna announced she was leaving to go get some drinks and playing cards and Jena thought Lindsey was in the other room on the phone...but she wasn't. Soon after Shawna left, Zach and Jena’s beloved dog, Lou entered. Jena looked over and became very concerned yelling, "Why is there a dog in here? Who's dog is this?" Note: If you have ever met Lou, you know he is pretty hard to get confused with any other lab due to his curly tail. Jena sprang up off the couch when she saw Zach in the doorway. She asked what he was doing here and he said "I came to take care of you." She didn't understand. He came forward, with flowers in his hand, handed them to her and said that Lou had something to give her. As Lou came near Zach got down on one knee and took the ring off Lou's collar. And here came the words that Jena had been waiting for over 6 years for. Basically all she could say was, "What? Really? Is this happening right now? I'm in my PJ's!" He put the ring on her finger and she exclaimed, "What? Really? Is this happening right now?" and he said, "Your supposed to say, "Yes." She then yelled it loud enough for everyone to hear. To say the least he surprised her and it was perfect. They were in their favorite place (Bend), with their favorite dog (Lou), Jena's bestfriends and a beautiful diamond. It was such an amazing day. And they can’t wait until Sept. 8, 2012 when they will be having a rustic wedding on Jena’s parent’s property in Prineville, Oregon. After planning over 150 weddings, Jena finally get to say “I do” to her best friend.
