The Book of Guests
I was recently looking through my Mom and Dad’s wedding album and just couldn’t help but think about how much everything has changed in terms of weddings since the early seventies.
Granted, the yellow floppy sun hats for the bridesmaids were the biggest difference, but so are all the little unique details. In one photo there was a lady with a big bouffant sitting with a spiral bound book with a quill pen and taking her guestbook management duties very seriously. I had to laugh. Then, I was looking through etsy.com last night trying to find a good gift for my Dad and between purchasing the etched Pilsner glasses I was looking at all the amazing new ideas for Guestbooks. Take a look above or go to www.etsy.com to see for yourself, unless of course you want to go ahead with the bouffant guestbook manager with the gold spiral bound book and in that case, you mind as well throw in the floppy sun hats for the girls.
Just remember too, the original reason for the guestbook was so that you had a record and address for everyone who attended the wedding so you could send Thank You notes. These days, we are leaning more towards kind wishes and notes of love, although the Thank You notes are necessary as well!
