Vine Gogh at the Gorge
Paint, Sip, Create
Join us on the 3rd Saturday of every month, along with some special dates throughout the year and get your "Vine Gogh" on!
Skamania is hosting the Vine Gogh Artist Studio at the Lodge. Join one of our Saturday classes at Skamania and learn to paint while enjoying a wonderful variety of wine options and marveling at the spectacular views of the Columbia River Gorge.
Vine Gogh is Portland's original guided art class and offers step-by-step painting classes on canvas. The painting classes are set to great music and Skamania Lodge will offer the opportunity to purchase liquid encouragement to help you get into a "creative mood".
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.
There's no need to be a Michelangelo; this is art for the non-artist.
Explore your inner artist! Vine Gogh sessions are taught by Jenny Schildan, Skamania's official Artist in Residence and a Portland native.
All classes are taught at Skamania Lodge in our Gorge Room (outdoors when weather permits) and when you are finished with the class, you will depart with a work of art that you created while having enjoyed delicious refreshments and making lasting memories.
- Each class is approximately 2.5 hours start to finish.
- Where: Will be conducted in the Gorge Room. Seasonal outdoor classes when weather permits.
- Time: 2pm until 4pm (unless otherwise specified)
- Price: $40 per person + tax
This Columbia Gorge art event is open for all guests, advance purchase of tickets required by calling 844-432-4748 or purchasing at the front desk. Maximum of 25 total guests.

Artist in Residence: Jenny Schildan
Jenny was born and raised in the Portland area, and has over 20 years of art experience, including painting, sculpture, and graphic design. Her paintings have been featured at Bridgeport and in the Street of Dreams show. A family trait, Jenny's artistic talent was strongly encouraged and supported by her family, especially her grandfather, who was an artist by trade.
In addition to establishing and teaching classes at the two Vine Gogh studios, Jenny has also donated her time to Public School Artist in Residence programs, leading over 900 students through collaborative painting classes. Jenny leads homeless and at risk teens through painting classes each month, patiently encouraging self-expression and therapy through creativity.
Teaching others to paint is Jenny's number one passion, and she is thrilled to be named official "Artist in Residence" at Skamania Lodge.
