Day 2
Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the Cascade Dining Room, offering a variety of delicious options to fuel your adventures.
When winter temperatures dip below freezing, the Columbia River Gorge transforms into a glittering wonderland of ice and mist. Embark on a breathtaking journey to discover some of the Gorge’s most stunning frozen waterfalls. From the iconic 620-foot Multnomah Falls, to the shorter but equally magical cascades of Latourell and Horsetail Falls, each stop reveals a new perspective of winter’s artistry. For those up for a short hike, Wahclella Falls offers a 1.8-mile roundtrip trek through a mossy canyon leading to a 60-foot waterfall frozen in mid-plunge. The best time to visit is right after a cold snap, when the trails glisten and the air feels alive with frost. Pro Tip: Bring microspikes, warm layers, and check road conditions before you go—most of these stunning scenes are just 30 to 45 minutes from Skamania Lodge.
Dine at the historic Multnomah Falls Lodge, nestled at the base of Oregon’s most famous waterfall. Enjoy hearty Northwest cuisine beside roaring stone fireplaces, with views of the majestic, ice-encased falls just steps away.
3 PM | Soak in the Outdoor Hot Tub
Sink into Skamania’s outdoor hot tub and let the steam rise into the cold air as you gaze at the snow-capped Gorge mountains.
6 PM | Dinner at Red Bluff (Stevenson, WA)
Head to Red Bluff for a delicious dinner, offering a variety of family-friendly options and stunning views of the Columbia River Gorge.
8:30 PM | Fireside Relaxation
Return to your cabin and unwind by the fireplace with a glass of wine or a cup of cocoa.
